Slightly better insurance rates for the G's as well.. thanks to the back "seats" lol.

Exactly.. it's nissans Lexus.

I'm sure a well equipped Z would be more than fancy enough for me.... the exterior styling just kills me though. The G's just look... classier.. or something. I HATE the headlights and taillights stuck in the z cars lol.

First car was a 280z. Loved it... broke it bad. Next was a 95 Nissan hardbody. Loved it.. had a kid so needed to trade it.

Then Nissan went French and was run by a tyrant. That and they love cvts that i hate... I stopped buying Nissan

Hell of a story how their last owner ninjad out of Japan to escape justice.

I have a good friend who works on Nissan for a living. That motor has a tendency to develope deep in the motor rod knock. (Probably from sliding and a touch of oil starvation really...) His 350 has it.. has had it. He says send it and get an exhaust to ignore it until it actually let's go. His hasn't for a long time getting beat on daily but he makes a killing swapping motors from people that freak early once they hear it.

I'm going to help you out there as part of this is wrong. Nissan never went French. What happened is Renaullt decided to partner with Nissan(totally different then buying) thanks to Nissan creating the VQ Engine. Renaullt also assisted Nissan from going Bankrupt since Nissan was dumping a bunch of money into the Z. This was in the mid 90's(don't remember Wich year exactly) and have been in a partnership ever since.

As for the CVT I want to say the first Nissan Vehicle to have a CVT was sold overseas In either the late 80's or early 90's. A great concept when you think about it, but Nissan can't seem to figure out the programming..... Oh and mind you the CVT is made by JATCO(a Nissan company) and Toyota uses the same transmissions and yet Toyota hasn't had any issues with it....

The escape is still a straight to DVD movie script when the owner who wasn't from Japan, middle eastern but from where I forget and can't be bothered to google, ran from their justice.

And I still say it went French because after that crap they never built stuff as sturdy as the KA24, RB, SR (not a huge SR fan actually) etc... all the stuff driving them to bankruptcy. So am I technically wrong, I'll own that for sure as i didnt build a wiki breakdown and it wasnt a buy out or even a 51%+ percent stake. Ya got me there for sure - no smartass (Pre french is still the real nissan IMO. Dont care what anyone says) I stopped buying them post change. Even when they tried throwing baguettes in the trunk as an incentive.

And the cvt needed a cooler from the get go. That may have helped in general. I've installed two coolers to solve speed limiting issues from overheats. Both altimas... now that I think about it.

You are not wrong about the cooler install. I have installed many on Altimas and Rogues. Besides that there have been many issues just with the programming.

As for engine durability, the VG, VQ, L, KA, RB, SR AND VR(GTR Engine) have shown to be great engines. The QR, MR and others that are currently being used I can't speak for much.

Your other posts inspired me to look for an older nissan offroader, but it will be from the KA or early gen VQ with a stick. Their manuals are freaking stout.

I also know nothing about the new stuff. No one has asked me to help work on one yet, might be a good sign.

I also keep getting tempted by damn last gen Trans Am.. so it's either off road or go fast. I'm torn.

If doing an Off-road type vehicle I recommend a VG over the KA. Way more low end torque. Also if you get an early Pathfinder (87-95) a VG33E(from a early frontier and Xterra) will swap in place of the VG30E. Easy bolt on power and the manual will still hold up.

I had a 1972 240 Z in high school and college. It was an awesome car back then. I am sure you will enjoy your 350 Z!
Yes, nice car. That’s when it was still called a Datsun 240z.

HAHAHA I can't believe they posted that

I'm actually noticing some small suspect details in my 350Z that I'm noticing now... Nothing deal-breaking or too surprising, but nothing I was informed of...

Looks like attention to detail could be an improvement area for them... let me go ahead and dial back my endorsement just a notch or two

Hopefully its the 3 pedal variant
Unfortunately, it is the 5AT. I live in a hilly, stop and go area, so I wanted to avoid the left leg workout, but let's be real, i'm a liiiittle bit of a wimp too

Very nice!

I hate to bring it up, but did something fall off or is that removable to access a tie down point?
So if you're talking about the bumper / grille - I think there's just a little bit of plastic missing from the grille...

If you're talking about the dirty looking panel by the right wheel. It's actually a clear coat paint protectant film which has just dried & deteriorated so I plan to remove that.

I had a 240Z, 260Z, 280ZX and a 300ZX. I was friends with Mr. Katayama's personal secretary. She ended up with his famed yellow 240Z Gnose. The picture is my 1991 300ZX in Sport Z magazine. I have a picture somewhere of my 300 parked next to the Gnose and the 350Z at the unveiling at Nissan HQ's in Gardenia, CA.
