These are not a new release, but I think this technology is where the future of off-road lighting will ultimately end up.

In a nut shell, it can be dimmed or maxed out at 2100 lumens and can also adjust light spread from 10 degrees to 60 degrees. All of this done from your choice of control method from the cabin.

At some point the lighting industry is going to hit a ceiling and the only innovation left will be two things to build upon;

- components that pull less power for same amount of light

- products become all in one with user controlled preferences on the fly

The tech will probably be above my comfortable price range forever more, as the current tech is going o run you a little over $200 for one light. I imagine as they lights grow in size and power that is going to raise the price tag.

At least until the Chinese over time slowly learn to do it and do it so it lasts.

I imagine given enough time you will see 7" versions of this type of thing with hyper focused 10 degree beams adjustable to over 100 degrees all while pushing 25-35 watts each.

Yea that type of design is what I would toss in the "stop-gap" category. While it gives you multiple choices, it still requires as big foot print as each individual mode is represented by a physical set of lights. I imagine the component count is much higher. The future will be one single physical light source, but mechanics like the AI cube to manipulate that single light source.

Or at least the states as individuals are.

Something in laws is also why we don't see more factory sequential tail lights directly from factory.

I couldn't afford to outfit my rig at those prices, plus they are not powerful to replace long distance lighting.

Those are standard from the factory. Ford site show 'LED Sequential Taillights' under exterior features for 2023 Mustang.

As innovative as that is, my first thought is "Good Lord, how much is that going to cost to repair?" I mean, you can probably forget about replacing a bulb yourself anymore; and yes, I get that LEDs last a lot longer than traditional bulbs, but eventually they will need replacing. It's just a matter of which you replace first; the lights, or the entire car. Not to mention which, the more components there are, the more that can fail.

Meant for motorcycles but you could probably use these on the truck yeah? Can't change the spread, but you can vary the intensity.
