Recently our state has proposed a bill for front license plates. If it passes will have to remove the Ranger plaque.

I know it's not a big deal to some but one thing I really liked was we don't have a front plate. I just like looking at the front and not seeing a plate as I think it gives the vehicle look a lot cleaner look.

Around here we have 2 plates but typically no one bothers you about it unless your asking for it (highly modified and or loud obnoxious vehicles) I think having no front plate holder personally looks better and is better “legally” than having it on the vehicle either empty or replaced with something else. You can always try and play dumb and say it doesn’t have one. ? Sometimes the front plate holders on cars here are only installed at the dealership when you get your permanent plates.

I read the pros and cons of the bill and looks like there are a lot of variables. My take is that if it has a reasonable success rate in apprehending criminals considering the costs and logistics of the change...I'm in. Sick of the excessive criminal activity in our state

In addition to the ongoing catalytic converter thefts here, in Los Angeles there is also a theft wave of the highly valuable front license plate brackets from the Ford Ranger 5G specifically.

Mine was stolen last weekend, and the theft not only further weakened my faith in some people but also exposed My Hole.

Seriously, the brackets? I worked with a guy once who had his front plate stolen, but the brackets?? I can't see them being worth the effort.

Unfortunately Paul it's happening just about everywhere now! ? But this is what happens when you try and restrict law enforcement from doing their job.:lipssealed:

Right? Who steals a plate bracket? Its 25 bucks for one brand new and I’m pretty sure specific to the Ranger. You also would have to have a ratchet handy to take off the bracket from the truck.

Isn't it plastic too? If so it's not like it's worth anything like a metal one for scrap. ?‍♂

Catalytic converter thefts are hot here too but any idea why the 5g brackets are being sought after?

Yeah it’s a flimsy little piece of plastic and even if it were made of a stamped piece of metal or something you’d get practically 0 money for it.

I thought it was plastic, mine was thrown in the garage cabinet the day I bought it. I figured it it were metal at least they could add it to all the other metal and at least it'd be worth stealing it.
