I sometimes miss them but mostly the fall. That was my favorite season back east seeing the trees changing color. But then that just meant winter was close and it got depressing. lol I think what I love the most is all the sunshine. We get over 300 days of sun here and I don't suffer from SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) anymore.

My yard back east was like that picture. It's a lot of work and money that goes into keeping that nice and while it does make the house look nice, I don't miss it one bit. Now I go out and trim my palms and plants every couple months which maybe takes an hour. That's enough for me. lolwe have better lawns though
so all that work we do on it while your yard maintenance is minimum
you have no snow to shovel
but we get to see the green for several months

Not all of AZ is hot and brown. There's so many different areas with all sorts of topography all around the state. Just here in the valley it's hot, brown and boring as every neighborhood looks the same. But what's nice is you can drive just over 2 hours in the summer when it's 110 down here and be in Flagstaff where it's mid 80's surrounded by Ponderosa Pines and spruce trees. You'd swear you were in New England (VT, ME, NH) and not in AZ.Now there is true OCD speaking there.
Gave mine it's twice a month car wash today. It's now back to Lightening Blue again. It's a beautiful sunny day and got up to +20. Better than the +4 with a -10 low over the weekend. Love the seasons. Arizona is boaring, alawys the same sunny and hot, sometimes too HOT!
I quess that's what's so great about our country. We can all find a place to live that suits us. I like the variety of the seasons and having grass and trees in my yard. Not having to drive 2 hours to see them. We have friends that live in San Tan. They love it, I could not live like that. I need more room. Every place has it's own good things and not so good things. I've found my happy place and you've found yours. The rest we just visit and go back home to our happy place.
The heat is definitely not for everyone and I find myself having a harder time with it now. But then we'll get a cold winter (low 30's at night) like this one and I doubt I could handle going back to anything colder. Only way would be if I did what I was doing before moving here which was take off for the winter months. As much as I joke about it I really do hate anything under 70 now but this 112 is starting to wear me down. That's why we started taking off for the month of June and once Annie retires (if we're still here) it'll most likely be June-Aug.
Al, for now we decided to stay. After doing a lot of online searching and going to AR it's financially best to stick around for a little longer. While we do love AR and still might end up there one day I'd like to still visit a few other areas like TN and KY. I'm just not a city person and this place has grown so much over the past couple years. Even with the rate hikes they're still building everywhere here, now it's just taking longer to sell.
