ASS = Automatic Stop/Start.

The truck will shut off when you come to a stop to save on fuel. Kinda annoying actually and many disable it. You can buy a disabler for $80 or plug a $2 night light into the rear seat electrical outlet. Both will disable it.
AS-S: Auto Stall - Stupid :)

With the Auto Stop Eliminator, the driver has full control over the AS-S function at the touch of a button - as GOD intended.....no 'ghetto' solution here.... :)

The factory button will do that too, it's just a bit longer reach. ?

I just move the shifter to Sport mode myself when I don't want it to engage.

While there is definitely an appeal to setting and forgetting, I haven't splurged for that yet.

Everyone keeps forgetting (deliberately?!?!) the AS-S resets itself at the beginning of every driving cycle. One must manually turn off the function after Ranger is started if not wanted.

With the Auto Stop Eliminator, once AS-S is turned off AS-S stays 'Off" until manually turned back on, whether it's one driving cycle or 5,000 driving cycles.

I like the ASS.
Makes me feel I'm doing my part in keeping mother earth in a healthy place.
Having said that, she can take care of herself & she'll wipe us out.
In heavy traffic stop & go, yup, it's really annoying, I'll hit da button!

Doesn't tow mode disable ASS as well? That's what it tells me in the display anyway.

Dude - as soon as I got my trucks home from the dealer that is the FIRST THING I DID... Disable that SH@T.

Pull that little plug off the battery terminal and it disables the auto stop... There is a vid on youtube.

The whole process takes less than 30 seconds...
I plug in a night lite in the AC adapter in the back and also can work as a flashlight, it disable the auto shot off.
