i looked around to see if we had a bs thread for motorcycles for people that ride or have in the past and found nothing! if im mistaken please post a link so i can go to that thread.

if not! then this will be a thread for anyone who rides or has ridden like i said before this will be for people to post pics of bikes doing what ever or to just bs and talk about them!

so lets start off when you first started riding and your first bike and where you are today?

I started riding dirt bikes when I was around 7-8. My first one was a Honda XR75 with a metal gas tank. lol Then from there I had a '78 Suzuki RM 125 and then several Kawasaki KX 125's and a few quads.

My first street bike was a Kawasaki Ninja 750 back in 1989. I've always loved crotch rockets and had a ZX-7, ZX-11, Honda CBR 900, and a GSXR 1000. We'd go up to Laconia (Louden) NH and do the track days up there which was really fun! My problem is I love speed way to much and it's only a matter of time before it catches up to you so I sold them and haven't ridden in years. Now there's just to many distracted drivers on the road and as much as I'd like to get a cruiser, I think I'll pass and be glad I'm still here.

i started with atvs when i was around 8 ish dad wanted me to get a dirtbike but mom said no lol.

Rode atvs for years until i started riding friends dirtbikes when i was about 15ish but they were 50cc or 100cc stuff like that so tiny bikes then started riding my dads 93 dr350 to get a feel for larger bikes about 5 years ago.

rode a few mopeds that a buddy of mine has modified but they are sketchy....

now i ride a klx400 (basically a drz400) on the street its a blast to ride and i havent been riding long at all i got my license in early march then got in an accident broke some bones and couldnt ride for a month a half.......... Since then ive been riding any time i get! to either work or out with friends or to find a local trail thats hidden.

i feel that for sure on distracted drives and speed thats why i have a slow bike thats just fun to rip around and be a bit of a hooligan with it.

First bike was a Yamaha 1977 RD400. How I survived that bike I have no idea.
At the end of the second summer I traded it in for a 1980 CB750F.
I still have the 750, I can only guess the mileage, 200,000 km I think. I've been
to St-John's NL to Victoria BC with it. It's in need of major repair. Also bought
a Harley from a scrap yard. Stripped it down to the frame, farmed it out to
straighten it, redid the electricals(wiring) myself. The Harley is a jobber,
shovelhead, most parts are 1984, Stugis model.
The Yamy was bought new in 1979.
Also have a 1977 CB500F, motor turns over so good news but lots of work to do.

Rode off road as a kid. Had a moped from 14 until I got a regular drivers license. Had a Honda night hawk 450 for a summer while in training in the Navy. Had a Honda 500 interceptor for a few years while living in Hawaii in the Navy. Had a minor accident on it an got a second car. I stopped riding until my kids were older. When my twins were coming up on driving age I got rid of the supercharged cobra a got a Harley. I have had 7 Harley's over the last 12 years an currently ride a street glide. it will probably be the last bike I have.

Started "riding" in 1976-77 on my future step-dads Suzuki 185 enduro....I could barely touch the ground and was scared to take it out of 1st gear. Had a couple Honda mopeds in the early 80's, then started riding a Yamaha RX50 --50cc engine on a 250 frame with a 5-speed trans. I beat the hell out of that thing. Then I got a Suzuki GS550L that always had electrical issues.
Then on 18 Oct 1987, I got T-boned on my friends Honda 125 enduro by his brother, who was driving an early 70's Chevy Malibu 4 door. The cops estimated he was doing 55-65 when he hit me. I was turning left and he was going to pass me and BANG. I went 150 feet from the point of impact, the bike went about another 15 feet. I still remember looking over and thinking OH FUUU !!! I missed hitting a fire hydrant and a street sing by a couple feet....hit grass, then concrete, then onto a semi parking area with the big 2-3" gravel where I stopped. I never lost conciousness and when my friend's brother finally got out of his car (the drivers side door was jammed shut from the impact), he was a little freaked out when I called his name. He was more in shock than me, so I told him what to do and keep me awake. I spent a week in the hospital with a clean tibia break and a greenstick fracture on the fibula. I had road rash from head to toe, and a goose-egg bump on my forehead--imagine taking a handball ball, cutting it in half and slipping it under the skin. I was wearing my Air Jordan high-tops, that were tied and they came off while I was cartwheeling through the air. Oh, and no helmet. 6+ months later, and I was still finding the occasional pebble that would work it's way through my scalp.
Over the years, I'd ridden a couple bikes here and there, but back in 2015, I got back on the horse, on a 2014 Victory Cross Country 8-ball. Rode it for a few years, did a few Patriot Guard missions. Had a couple "close calls"--too close for me, but not real close for a more experienced rider, so I sold it in late 2018.
I got lucky once, and with the number of close calls I've witnessed, not to mention 2 or 3 motorcycle fatalities in the small city I live in, that all occured in less than 2 months, I'll stick to 4 wheels.
And I always keep an extra eye out for y'all :like:

2020 Road Glide, 114 CI Stage 2.

Like most, I rode dirt bikes as a kid. I didn't get a street bike until I was in my 30s, but have had a continuous love affair with Harleys since.

I started at 19 on a Kawasaki GPZ 550, brand new to me. Then over the years I had a 1973 CB350F, CB900F, Yamaha R6 and a R1. The R1 was insanely fast. That was the fastest bike I rode. I had it up to 177 as I was coming up to a border station near White Sands Missile Range. That thing handled so well in the twisties also. But I no longer ride, especially here in the Philippines. The drivers here are insanely bad both 2 and 4 wheel drivers.

At the time cycle magazine said it was the best handling an braking bike of it's time. Talking early to mid 80's. The riding position wasn't that extreme by sport standards but then again I was 22 at the time. That V4 can be a pain in the @$$ to work on. I saw one on Craigslist that needed restoration for like $400 an I was slightly tempted, then I remembered adjusting those valves an quickly forgot about it.

Great bike Jacob! I always loved my KX's and they always ran great too.

Meh, age is only a number, enjoy your youth to the fullest!! I did and don't regret one minute of it. Even now at (almost) 58 I still do as much as possible, just a little slower at times. lol
