Nah good tunes are universal.

Even though it's not my generation I actually listen to mostly jazz music now that I'm older. I actually prefer any music that has no lyrics.
Thumb drives and XM are boomer options. Straight up. Haha, but yes… good tunes are universal.

If I’m looking no lyrics I’ll listen to classical piano, but was just thinking the other day about Rock music and if I had to name my favorite band from every generation of my life. I came to this:
0-10: Led Zeppelin 10-20: Nirvana 20-30: RHCP 30-40: The Black Keys.

Any Jazz I should listen to? I am not well caught up with the genre.

I work
Spotify. I got it when I was finishing up college courses for $5 per month, but it has since gone to $10, since I’m no longer in school.

Can download any song I want, make playlists, follow friends playlists, get artist recommendations, and podcasts. Not sure how old you are, but I don’t know a single person under 45 (maybe 50) has ever used Sirius XM. I haven’t listened to Stern since he went over, I guess he helped them build their business, I guess why he gets paid so much.
Wouldn't listen to Stern if I was paid to.
I'm old enough to have Classic Rewind, Ozzy's Boneyard and Hairbands as my primary stations.
Spotify is high on my list to try.

I got a 3 month unlimited trial for $2.00 to SiriusXM for our trip. I go between Rock Bar, Lithium and Hair Nation but I would say Rock Bar has the best mix. Before that I was using iHeart radio and TuneIn Radio which have a lot of good choices.
Somehow missed Rock Bar.
Thanks!

Music is life. Makes the world go round.
I noticed you criticized the suggestions but didn't give any? So teach a Boomer a new trick.

Try it a month. If you listen to podcasts it’s great, the music is a plus since I don’t want to waste my time syncing my phone to my computer and buying every single album that comes out. You can stream or download, so essentially as long as you keep paying for the service it’s on your phone, incase you have bad data. I got like 3000 songs on my playlist right now.

I think it's 313. I just started listening to it a couple weeks ago when Bob @Bob902 mentioned it in another post. They have a good mix and don't seem to repeat the songs like Hair Nation does. You're right they play Tesla so much they should rename it the Tesla station. lol

Wynton Marsalis is a.good.modern jazz musician. I like Felonies Monk as well.

On the flip side I also enjoy a good EDM tune

All, I'm curious about what services you use to get your groove on in your Ranger.
I currently have All Access SiriusXM but I'm getting a little worn on Tesla and Queensryche.
I pay $115 for All Access/Platinum SiriusXM and use it on the road, in the office and in the shower.

Share what you use and how you make it work? And cost if you're willing.

I just listen to my own playlists from Spotify Premium by way of my iPhone. They seem to have the best selections of the music I like, and no commercials, in fact, no talk at all...

Classic rock wherever I find it.
Well, also classical, jazz, blues...
I should checkout Pandora.
XM repeats way too much.

Like many others, I use Pandora. I have guest access to Spotify, but I was a Pandora user from way back when. And like WingShot, I have a very large collection of MP3's stored on my trusty iPod for when I want to listen to specific artists/playlists. However, for long trips, I'm more likely to listen to audiobooks.

Sirius is an absolutely terrible deal its basically radio with extra steps that you have to pay for. Apple music is way better good stations can download music to your watch and listen without your phone the new spatial audio and its way cheaper and if you have verizon a lot of plans now include it.

Yeah when I read thumb drive I laughed out loud. Downloading to your phone and using carplay and one of the many aforementioned apps works way better and more ergonomically

I avoided downloading music to my phone to avoid taking up space an I tend to do other stuff with the phone like use the GPS, read up on the news an social media. Phones may do multiple tasks at the same time ok but they sure seem to get hot when streaming or doing multiple tasks at once.
I don't run out to get the latest phone as soon as it's released. I try to use the phone as long as I can to avoid chucking out another $800+ on a phone so maybe the new 5G phones are better at it, but then again I'm not in a 5G coverage area most of the time (yet, the tower is supposed to go up soon). Some of the rural areas near me aren't the best reception zones either.
