Protecting Your Truck While Modding / Maintenance / Repairs

Thought we might have a bit of fun and talk about how you protect your truck from damage while working in it, such as performing maintenance, doing mods or repairs.

What do you use? Fender covers? Moving blankets? Coveralls?

Any cool tips or tricks?

What got me wondering is that I bought a set of Dickie's coveralls to work on my old car (mostly so that I do not get my normal clothes dirty), but the darn things are so uncomfortable and HOT even in cool weather. Now I mostly wear an old t-shirt and basketball shorts so that I don't have any metal to scratch the finish.

I use old bath mats. They got rubber bottoms to keep them from slipping off fenders and plushy tops for comfort!

I did but that's before the atrophy set in. Now I'd be lucky if I can turn the torques 50 bit to instal it.

This one is soft rubber top and bottom, works like a dash mat to hold tools from sliding around. They were both under $20 when I got them about 2.5 years ago

I always put on old clothes and shoes to protect the good ones. I remove belts, watches, and wear a shirt without buttons (T-Shirt) to prevent scratching the paint. Always try to get a good grip on any tools used to keep them from slipping and damaging something or from dropping them into the engine compartment.
