Understood and not necessarily a connection/conclusion that I was drawing. When you go to "search inventory" as in not selecting the "build your own" you get the following message:

"Due to a combination of high demand and global supply-chain constraints, not all models and trims or features are available to order. Contact your dealer for available inventory stock or future availability."

And you have to hit the "ACKNOWLEDGE" button before being able to search inventory. I've been searching inventory a couple times a week last several weeks. That statement was most likely added in last 7 days or so.

I'm not sure why Ford felt it necessary to add that statement when you go to search inventory - other than maybe an indirect acknowledgement they are really struggling to build trucks people want most?
Which does make you wonder why the site will let you build and price something they are not taking orders for. Except to have that order routed and a local dealer try to sell you something off the lot, or something someone has moved on from, or a 3 year old one for more than the sticker of a new one.

May not entirely be dealer allocation. My original order with an admittedly low volume local Ford dealer was submitted 21 February.

After seeing nothing through all of April - a LARGE volume dealer I had been talking with about a previously in stock one offered to take an X-plan order with no deposit. His theory stated to me that as a top 20 national volume dealership - their order would get acted on just as quickly if not quicker than my original order - and for slightly less. Order placed just before the cutoff for 22 orders. I'm pretty sure his dealership is more than halfway hopping that I find one before this one gets built and shipped so that they can make more money off it it with someone else.
I think this may be the new plan for dealers to get stock vehicles. I tried to convince a high volume dealer near me to do the same as you, but they would not agree to it, and wanted to mark it up over MSRP, compared to the one I have ordered at MSRP. With the price increases since I ordered, they would not even consider matching, so I passed.

It is maddening if Ford is building orders for stock while having 'clean' retail orders waiting to be built. Especially with the order bank closed for the vehicle.

When I ordered my Ranger in late January I told the dealership that I would like to have it by September. So there is plenty of time left in my timeline, but if it takes six weeks or more to deliver two hours away how long will it take to get it to the Washington coast. ? Especially since I can’t scheduled to be built.

Welp....... I walked into a bout of good luck today

My XLT 301A is still on order, and not slated to arrive in CO until July/August. I FOUND, through some sheer luck, another CO dealer that has a NEAR IDENTICAL truck, only differences are Ebony interior over Medium Stone, and its a 302A truck as well. Already built, slated for dealer stock delivery this month. After X-Plan, it works out about the same.......

Needless to say, I have a $1000 deposit down on the 302A, financing through my local CU lined up, and working out the details to take delivery several months early. If anyone in CO is looking for a nice Velocity Blue XLT 301A FX4 and doesn't mind waiting a bit, Ken Garff Ford in Fort Collins will have one going to dealer stock sometime around July
Ah congrats! Very similarly set up to mine that I'm still waiting on. Kudos!

Heard from the dealer that they have vehicles stuck in a rail yard and Ford will not allow them to pick the vehicles up with their own trailers. Maybe I am lucky my truck is scheduled for convoy.
Mine is shipping convoy and has been awaiting shipment since 3/9...... Still in Michigan...

Congratulations to all of you that have received your trucks, “you lucky sob’s” and to the ones that have received your emails the last few weeks with vin’s and build dates. I have been talking to a my salesman and he has told me that the dealers have been waiting on orders just as long as some of us. Ford has been trying to walk the fine line of keeping everyone happy but it is not working, juggling orders for dealerships and for our special order. Does it suck, you bet your ass it does but I know myself that I want this truck and can wait if I have to. One of the guys I work with had to wait 9 months to get a whole house Generac generator installed he was told supply line issues. I have a feeling that this supply line crap is going to last for quite a while, I figured a lot of us should have been ready for this shit show. Look at the toilet paper ordeal. Enough rambling for now hang tough guys, Ford has the best full sized and the best mid sized trucks on the market definitely worth waiting for.

I’m also in Washington and I placed my order with the dealer in Omak on September 3 of last year . Order was canceled and had to reorder a 22. I didn’t recieve email until December and order was accepted in November.
in February finally got a build date of 3/28. Finally got Vin beginning of March then on 3/11 received email saying build date has moved up to 3/14! On 3/15 received email saying build date is now 4/4!!!!!! Has been in Production for a month now. Ford says in production but to be delivered 5/13. Dealer says same then today found out there is a hold for some reason. So 8 months and counting ?

That is frustrating for sure..

But in regards to the interest rates, my dealer told me I locked in rebates and rates from when I ordered, either an $850 rebate for X plan or the lower interest rates, is this not the case?

I ordered two months ago and at the time it was 0% for 36, 0.9% for 48 and 1.9% for 60.
I spoke to my dealer yesterday and they will honor the interest rate based on my choice of when I ordered (December 23) or when it is delivered. So I am hoping for a very low rate.

Does anyone know if the copilot 360 for the ranger is the same one that they use on that damn maverick???? That's probably why some of us waiting for rangers are getting scheduled or are rangers are not being delivered! It seems like all I hear about is the stupid maverick!!! Ford is probably sending all the parts to Mexico so they can pump out the Mavericks!!! I call BS if that's true if I didn't want a real truck like the ranger I would have bought a Honda Ridgeline. Sorry to all those people that have been waiting for over a year to get one but what else did they expect!! Besides I wouldn't even consider buying a first year built maverick I am already sitting back and hearing all the horror stories about those things !!!!

I will say going from an early 2019 to a 2022 there are definitely some small things that got deleted, but the overall fit and finish of the panels and the overall build quality has improved. At least when it comes to the 2 Rangers I personally have had.

if i had known it was gonna take this long i might not have even ordered one. maybe another month to get a build date and 2 months after that for it to arrive and im looking at 6 months from order to delivery. my worst fear is that somehow special orders eventually get cancelled and im stuck with almost $2k worth of addons and upgrades. probably stupid of me to get all that stuff beforehand but some of the blame for that has to be placed on this place:explode:?

Well, it's not the one I ordered, that still hasn't gotten delivered but it's near identical to it.

And all I can think of is some country song that has a line like "It could have been me, standing there with you...." :) Nice truck. I don't know if you noticed - but when we looked at it, there was what I'd call a crap ton of sand/dirt distributed throughout the undercarriage. It was as if they trucked it in an open car hauler on the lower deck through snow, salt, and sand covered roads all the way to Mass. If we bought that one - first order of business for me would be a thorough underside wash to get all that crap off.
