In Ontario we pay 13% sales tax on top of federal and provincial income taxes. Plus gas taxes, booze taxes, cigs. It never stops.
If you want to compare taxes I guarantee you that if i add the cost of my health insurance to my total tax bill it'll beat yours! LOL

Before this i lived in Maryland, which had high sales tax AND high state and local income tax. The saying in Maryland is "we can tax that!"

I'll likely do a 2" lift on the Maverick and add bigger tires, just in case we do take it off road.
So , your letting a Ranger go to get a Maverick , then lifting the Maverick and tires untill its about the size of a Ranger ? But a Ranger that is struggling with big tires ?

Yep! Sales tax in Tacoma is 10%. The downside to living in a state with no Income Tax.

I suspect my dealer will put it on the lot for $3k-$5k above MSRP. MSRP on this truck is $46k.
i will trade you. state income tax here is 6.5%, but the county tacks on an additional 1.15 and the city 1.5, bringing the grand total to 9.15%. and state income tax to boot. sucks to live here

My partner just bought a Tacoma TRD Off Road. We decided we didn't need two very similar trucks, and something with better mileage makes more sense for daily driving.

Also, I am getting the AWD Maverick with the Ecoboost engine, so it is fairly capable.
Trade the Tacoma in and you both win!

The sales tax on my ranger in NH was zero.

ofcourse I then spent $800 registering it. (they gt their money one way or another)

Mr Ford found all that money, so you don’t have to pay for vehicle registrations anymore. Amazes me when a government finds money, like they checked the couch cushions or opened a lemonade stand.

2" level lift on a Maverick doesn't make it anything like a Tremor. Just makes it a bit more capable. The maverick doesn't have a rear locker, Fox suspension, etc etc. And the Ranger can tow almost twice as much. Two very different trucks. Also, it's $20k cheaper than the Tremor, and even with the AWD it gets 28mpg on the highway.

And we just bought a Tacoma TRD Off Road. Like I said above, we decided on a second vehicle that's a bit better on fuel economy for highway driving. My wife wanted the Tacoma way more I wanted the Ranger.

What's funny about this is that half the responses i had to buying a Maverick were "That's not a truck!" or "Fake Truck". So to hear someone say "It's just like a Tremor" If I put a 2" level and better tires on it is just weird. LOL.

The Maverick is going to be in a lot of driveways. This is another reason why. Want some of the utility and the convenience is worth it. Like many here who prefer the Ranger after having owned F-150s.

I've owned two F150s and a Transit Connect. And TBH i kind of liked the van better because I could tease 30mpg out of it on the highway. It was just less frustrating to own, even if i couldn't take it off road. But what's always stuck in my head is a 5k mile overland trip we did to New Mexico in my last F150 that cost me $2400 for gas.

My point was exactly that , your buying the Maverick for a very specific reason , but then modifying it to where it's not as good at the very thing you bought it for as it should be ...but it's a truck , and a nifty one from what I've seen , if they go all electric , I'm in ...

Add a damper and you should be able to ask much more for it. ?
