Or a dampener?? :like:   :fingerscrossed:

Sorry David...I couldn't resist ;)

I would have said two gallons of gas
Oh, I have no doubt that I'll eventually get a dampener. Right now, without the truck, it's easy for me to say "who needs that? Old pickups didn't have them and those tailgates were massively heavy. I'd have to be a real weenie to get that dampener thing."

BUT ... I also know that since I seem to be unable to use a non-slow-close toilet seat, the same will happen with the tailgate. And I'll eventually rationalize enough that it'll be one of the smartest things I've ever done. =D

If we’re being honest here, the people posting replies are doing just what you are doing to the dealership. Engaging just enough to make you uncomfortable yet ready to pull the plug at a moments notice. I don’t have notifications turned on for this thread. I only see if somebody reacts to me, replies to me, or quotes me. This thread is neither informative nor educational. It is mildly entertaining. I am curious how it all plays out though. I am rooting for the guy to get one up on the dealership - yes! I am also the guy that would help direct traffic around the flat bed that comes to pick up the truck.
I won’t take any (more) jabs. I will be honest though.

Whew, that was a wild ride.. Almost as wild as the first time I let my tailgate go without a damper on it and the old lady down the street passed out, it caused two car wrecks and almost an economic collapse. I had one overnighted to me immediately.

And you all thought Canadians were nice. Well, maybe not all of you, but some of you. Well, maybe a handful of you. Alright, maybe just me and a couple others. Okay, okay, likely just @Tracy Bowman and no one else.

Canadians do make very good blended whiskeys, I used to drink a good deal of the Crown and occasionally Pendleton prior to switching to bourbons. But for decent quality blended whiskeys the Canadian blends are an outstanding value. :)

I'm a frog, a French-Canadian, so I have to be mean, it's just what we do. But I do love me some good poutine, it'll stop my heart but I'll die happy and full. =D

Gotta agree with that. There are some decent single malts here too but who hasn’t enjoyed Crown Royal or Canadian Club on occasion? We do love our Rye Whisky (it might be all in the way we spell it). Even some of the great Kentucky distillers make excellent rye whiskeys - doesn’t hold a candle to their bourbon, because, Kentucky. ???? ??

It’s kind of like those driving school cars - sometimes someone has to grab the wheel and steer it out of harm’s way - for everyone’s safety.

Or crash it into another and just get it over with. ?

Well, some on here are trying to do just that - having zero success but trying nevertheless. ?

I don’t want anybody accidentally grouped in with me. I am only a guest in this country. For 23 years…. Occasionally my native Detroiter comes out.
