Well I think Phil has mentioned that Ford employees get comped for cost cutting - these guys aren't dumb, design a vehicle so the initial MY has lots of features, then submit a cost cutting suggestion and collect the proceeds. I once worked in a railroad car repair shop, things were slowing down with rumors of layoffs, one industrious fellow took it upon himself to create extra work by going out into the yard with his acetylene torch and proceeding to burn stuff off of the cars. A fine example of american ingenuity.

I could write a book on my experiences - albeit brief on working summers in Bethlehem Steel's Lackawanna Plant - at one time their largest mill with 20k employees . Couldn't believe they stayed in business as long as they did - the abuses were common and management largely turned a blind eye as in the 70s US steel makers were still fat dumb and happy, but that quickly changed.

Just went out with a magnet and found all four fenders, four doors, and cab are steel. Or at least the magnet stuck to them???

Tailgate and hood aluminum.

If the magnet sticks... They're steel.

So a thought comes to my mind. Will service replacement fenders now be steel?

There is a guy that just had to repair frontal damage on his and the new fender was steel. So yes if you need a new fender you may very well end up with an aluminum one on one side and a steel on the other.

Is there anyway to lock the tailgate without a tailgate lock? I’m not sure what it had that it doesn’t. Still waiting on the truck..

Mine locks with the remote and/or door locks.

Well that depends. If you install the steel one on the opposite side of the one that's leaning it might level it out!

Perhaps you have to have the Sport package for the power folding mirrors? Or maybe the combo of 302A and Sport packages?
I had/have the 302A and sport package on both my '19 and '21 and have had the power folding mirrors on both trucks.

It's possible Chris but someone mentioned this in the other thread they were deleted so I added it. Also I made it so anyone can edit the original post to add or correct stuff on the list. This way it can stay updated and people don't have to search through all these posts to find the answer.

This option was still available when I placed my order in mid January 22. But it appears it is no longer being made that way. I do believe the ADDITION of heated mirrors is in place of the power folding, as I ordered the same 302A Sport FX4 and there was no mention of heated mirrors (only power folding) at that time. So in this instance I personally am glad if this is the case. I wanted the heat in mirrors, but could care less about power folding. The aftermarket version is easy enough to install if i need them later, but a heated mirror would have been a bit more challenging to add later... at least for me.

It was #6 so I edited it to include pen. Which is about the only thing you could store in there. lol

They also removed the touch handle locks, or whatever they're called, from the rear doors on the Lariat in '21. edit out...

yeah this is the one that annoys me

The only thing I can find in the updated order guide regarding power fold mirrors are Lariat only. Didn’t see any free standing options for them in any of the other trims/packages
