That is very good!:inlove: I received my first record player when I was in 3rd grade. My parents bought me an instrumental album - Billy Strange playing guitar. I thought odd at the time, but I played it over and over and loved it.
Bought my Grandson and myself a guitar each at Christmas. Think I can teach myself to play like Carlos Santana?
I bought one May 2020 during the height of the pandemic.

This the the first post where I haven't seen a single band on the list. Closest I've come was Pantera in the early 2000s. I do love some Judas Priest though
GWAR is the absolute best band to see live.

Dying fetus comes in a close 2nd. Quite the noise for only being 3 guys.

Knowing you kiddo it may take you 2, or 3 weeks to get there. But, I'm sure you can do it..........I've been a drummer since I was 13. I tried to learn the guitar, but it was to late. I wanted to be a Carlos Santana in a month, and it just wasn't going to happen. So, I stuck with the horse that brought me. :)

Can you play it?

I’m still at the tuning stage! It’s a slow go for me.
I started out with some online lessons through Fender Play. They are a good start with many different musical styles available. Very well designed courses and slow paced. They were good for me as I was just starting out when most people my age have quit playing. I've now been taking private lessons since November which is good, because being with an experienced player helps with motivation and unlearning bad techniques.

The guy is amazing and very patient with me. Part owner of the music store, sports a Billy Gibbons waist length beard and plays lead guitar & vocals in an Alt Country-Americana band. Goes by "Zeb."

Keep at it, both of you. I started playing a few years ago at 48 years old, after watching my daughter play everything and anything musical and grow up to eventually be nominated for a Juno Award and play onstage at Massey Hall, which is the Canuckistan equivalent to Carnegie Hall ??? And, after seeing me stick with it for a while even though I sucked I eventually did get a little better, my Dad tried, learned some stuff and now he is 85 the three of us can all play some tunes together whenever we get the chance. It could be life changing for your grandson and to share learning it together makes it even better. I wish had started earlier in life, but here we are, and I am not stopping now.

I wonder, when practice is over and its time to put the guitar away, can you manage to get it back in the case without a struggle, like when you're parking Butterscotch?

Some legit classics here! I was surprised nobody had REO or Boston on their list. I'll add them shortly!

Well, I tell ya, Jim, it’s quite the challenge!
