Saw this in a discription from Ford. Not on mine that I know of?
Ranger Tremor comes with two new recovery hooks in the rear, in addition to the two up front.

Do I need to call the dealer?

Assuming you have the trailer hitch, it would be a bunch easier to just get a hook that slides into the receiver. I have one, it's come in handy a few times over the years.

The recovery hooks on the Tremor are removed if you have the factory tow package. The hooks mount to the same place as the factory hitch. So if you have the factory hitch then you’re not missing anything.

I just always used the pin in the receiver itself instead of buying extra things I really didn’t need…

Oh man - soft shackle or recovery strap around the hitch pin! ?

Why do I have this?

I installed this on mine, mostly to maybe keep these idiot drivers from riding my ass, but it will still perform as its' intended too.

I had one similar to this on my F150. It did more damage to my shins as I'd always forget it was there and walk into it so I finally pitched it. I just bought this one for my Jeep but will use it on my Ranger too. I also have a soft shackle, locking pin and tow strap coming tomorrow.

I have a D ring receiver as well. Don't forget about friction of the two steel surfaces, versuses just a metal pin. The d ring receiver will be stronger than just a soft shackle on a pin.

At least in California, if you want to keep a hard shackle attached, tighten beyond hand tight; keeps it from "walking off". Before using the shackle, loosen it to just hand tight.
