No sir...worked fine. I've had similar ones on my old gmc Canyon for over 2 years..

Not today, but I had my Alpharex Novas installed yesterday and had the pleasure of getting them properly aimed last evening in the rain.

It was fun; me, a 30’ tape, a Phillips head screwdriver and a roll of painter’s tape behind the local grocery store as the chilly rain came down. Two cars cutting through were nice enough to roll their windows down and ask if I needed help with anything. Gotta be honest, that kinda took me by surprise….and went a long way toward restoring my faith in what seems to be an ever increasing self-centric society.

Now, the homeless guy that propositioned me was a bit awkward. I mean, c’mon……who carries cash in their wallet these days?

Lol…..anyway, no pics at the moment…gotta wait for the rain to clear out.

Installed the Thule aero bars from my RS on the Ranger. Fitment kit for the Ranger arrived from Europe today.

Before:

My parents got me a Trash-a-roo for Christmas and I test fit it awhile ago. I really like it, except for one thing. I didn’t like how it slid around. With weight in it, it would start to dip down and slide from side to side. The following is my solution.



I picked up these eyelets and all the other supplies from the Army Surplus. Except the buckles are from Amazon.

This is the bracket, installed with the bolt into the tailgate. The bolts are existing, so nothing is permanent.

Here are both, installed.

The Trash-a-roo straps come over the top and bottom, just like before. Instead of connecting together, they connect to the straps I mounted.

I still need to figure out what I am going to do with the excess webbing. I don't want to cut it off because that's the webbing from the bag and I can't add more later, if needed. Might just roll it up and zip tie it or something... That's another day's problem.

The final product:

When I don’t need the Trash-a-roo, the only evidence that it’s there is the straps on the tailgate. I did some testing, and the buckles I got will withstand me pulling on them with all 250 lbs of me, so… they should be fine for this.

If you don't have the old style Rapid Traverse (480R) feet just get the current Evo style from Thule (or any of their retailers, I think you can even get that style from Ford Accessories).

The new style is

• Bar
• Feet
• Fitment kit

I happened to have the old Pre-2018 style bar (aero bar) and feet (Rapid Traverse) on my RS. Because the Ranger didn't arrive in the US until 2019 after the newer style Evo feet were released as best as I can tell the older style fitment for this was never released in NA even though the documentation for the 1665 fitment kit for the 2011+ Ranger (and Mazda BT-50) does mention North America on the front page. I ordered a used kit from an eBay seller based in the UK because I could not find any NOS for this kit.

Since I only needed the fitment kit, it was way cheaper for me to get that for just under $100 after shipping than to get the new Evo feet and fitment kit for ~$425.

Ok! I’ve actually bent one mount of the passenger side, the doorstep was bent upwards. Mine are made from plastic though. Lucky for me is that the hit was directly in the mounting bracket, which I could restore to the original shape later on.

Yea I have the fx4 ones and they're like 1/4 thick tube steel. I've seen the Tremor ones and those are pretty thick too.
