Finally threw in the towel on the 3rd brake/bed light replacement. I appreciate the instructional links and encouragement that was offered, but I’m man enough to admit when I’ve had my ass kicked, lol. In this case it was kicked, trampled on and handed back to me on a filthy platter.

Honestly? I just couldn’t figure out a “simple” way to get the headliner down enough to reach the wiring harness. I tried everything to reach it from outside the cab, but I’m convinced they just didn’t leave any slack to work with….and pulling interior trim to pop the headliner was puckering me up something fierce. I just don’t have the experience or know-how to make it a risk-free procedure.

I’ll hang on to the smoked LED light I was hoping to install. Perhaps someone will make a video on dropping the headliner that’ll walk me through it sometime down the road.

In the meantime, I’m waving the white flag….and plopping myself back down on the sofa, where I belong.

yes, i saw that and thought hmm I bet hes hiding some old cobra or midland in that ranger for 11 meter lol. no shame in it.

LOL I have two radios...the one shown is dual band programmed for GMRS + repeaters...the other radio is a remote Uniden CB and the mic/control is sitting in the cubby...that's why I have two antennas...

Beautiful truck. I sort of wish I went with rapid red but couldn’t find a RR FX4 at the time. The color matched bumper really elevates how good it looks.

Stedi licence plate lights when on. Difference is huge, as expected, plus so much less glare on reversing camera.

Have the reverse, puddle & running/brake light globes due this week.

Amazing the difference that something as simple as LED globes can make on a vehicle. Wish I had a before pic, but I assume at least some of the US models have the same, OEM candle lighting.

these guys removed alot, but not sure you need to fully remove it to do your task

Smart money is still on the Ranger.

The opposite, believe it or not. Camera has heaps less glare.

around here the consensus is to have your plate lighted because its the law...but lighted as little as possible so the toll cameras have a tougher time seeing your plate.
unless you have a vanity plate and you want people to read it, why the need for so much more light?

Does the concensus realize that the toll cameras mostly operate on near infrared and don't give a flying leg hump about license plate lights?

Removal of front struts, the UCA way this time, way simpler than LCA. Total time 1.5h with tools fetching included.

Way to go FOMOCO on rustproofing. Funny thing, the stickers with QR codes are good quality actually.
