I’ve been secretly lurking the forums looking for a paddle shifting kit or retro fit wheel for the Ranger. It seemed there was some promise with the Explorer steering wheel but nothing ever came out of it.

Lastnight I came across a company called CanShift. They design wireless paddle shifters that shift the trans through canBus. Seems wild but I would love to have the option of shifting my gears via paddles.

I emailed the company lastnight and they seem very interested in providing us with a product. They need some hands on testing with a Ranger around the Detroit area. I would gladly be a test dumby if I didn’t live in Denver.

If anyone is interested in helping out, give Jon a shout out at: [email protected]

They have some reviews up on YouTube and Instagram as well.

Here’s a link to one of their f150’s utilizing the CanShift!

Jon also told me that it may be possible to adapt a Raptor wheel to our Rangers for a more OEM feel.

I'll live a little bit on the dangerous side and not waste my money solving a problem that doesn't exist I guess ?‍♀

If you use the up and down shifters on the stick, you’ll find they don’t respond immediately…they sorta shift when they want…how will a paddle shifter help ?
That is a great question and I honestly don’t know. Maybe shifting through canBus might be more responsive?
A TCM tune would also probably benefit the shifting. Regardless, I’d like to atleast have the ability to use paddles. Who knows how well it work until some actual testing takes place.

I understand where you are coming from but believe it or not, some of us would like to utilize paddles in our Rangers. Live dangerous my friend ✌?
