'19 Ranger w/trailer tow package. Early production. Purchased a Curt for my new dual axle ATV trailer w/brakes. 7-pin connector. When connected directly to the trailer all the lights/turn signals work fine.

Installed the Curt ap on my iPhone as instructed, plugged in the Curt unit, turned on the truck, selected tow mode and no flashing blue light in the Curt to proceed with set up. Checked fuses, and all associated with towing are good. Hooked up the trailer, plugged everything in and still no blue light which means (I think) I am unable to proceed with the set up.

Called Curt. Very helpful. After a few questions they sent me a new unit and when in stalled received the same experience, no blue light. Anyone using this unit had the same experience? Any ideas?

Did you receive the dash notifications that a trailer was connected? The truck will not turn on power to the +12 volt pin in the 7 pin connector until it sees a trailer connected. Must be running not just turned on. Try stepping in the brake pedal, I think it looks for a load on the brake circuit to detect the trailer.

Edit: Kind of why I'm not a fan of the Curt controller

What Big Blue said above ^

Press the brake pedal and/or shift out of park into drive. My truck does not find a trailer until I do that. I think it needs a load on the brake. Once I hit the brake and shift to drive/reverse, the dash pops up the message about a trailer being connected. If you do not see the message on the dash, the truck is not finding a trailer load, and will not energize the 12V wire.

Unfortunately this is a common scenerio with modern tow vehicles. Our Ranger's have a dedicated trailer control module that is pretty smart, and tough to trick into thinking a trailer is connected. Example, the simple 7-pin connection testers will not work with our trucks.
