Howdy all,

Been a while since I had time to go out and make a nice little post. Little off-road trip setup by @XL_Ranger_Danger (partner Andrea and doggo Doogle) with @A Tale Of Two Rangers, @Sgt_Gr8Haus (his buddy Eddie and doggo Luna) and Gary(Garry?) from Expedition Portal forums. Met a bunch of great natured people and enjoyed camping with like-minded stranger rangers.

First we all met up at Blair Valley Campground, camped the night, headed to arroyo seco del diablo at 10 am. Met up with Johnny, a buddy of @Sgt_Gr8Haus, who has a very sweet F150 as well. Took the trail head in, got to see some 3 wheeling action at the entrance to diablos drop off trail. Got to test out my stock suspension ranger(only fox rears), did relatively fine, only one clunking underneath. No locker needed imo for most trails unless you are doing really wild stuff or maybe snow? Had a great time, the 92 ranger got airborne a little and messed up his back tire position, a couple skid plates got beat up more than likely and we all got to make new friends.

I encourage everyone to jump into the local section and partake in organizing meetups and getting to know other rangers around you. If there are anyone local to San Diego/SoCal area and missed the thread come check it out in the locals "San Diego surrounding off roading" . I am almost certain the next meetup will be 8+ Rangers.

Oh yeah, also the rain messed up Poleline Road a bit the night before I met up with the group and I was bombing it at 40 mph. I see deep ruts but I brake a tad too late and bottomed out three times, left my tire marks on my wheel wells. Maybe it's time for some Fox 2.0's... It ran well the next few days so fingers crossed nothing was damaged.

Maybe some others can post a few pics or videos but here is what I got.

Entrance to Diablo's drop off trailhead (no video of me doing it, I was last, but had no trouble or spin!)

You had some 3-wheelin action too, sweet stuff. Might be a good spot to snag a photo off of :) You've done way more than a noob would. :turkey:

Me bottoming out three times on poleline road, can’t believe I was videoing at the time. It happens near the end 1:20 and on. Hilarious, sounds like glass shattering everywhere.

I am sure there are some neat little trails and plenty of rangers in the texas area! Look for the local threads or start one like I did :turkey: The old ranger is an amazing setup. He rode back in the days with the people who set up the original Moab trails... He knows his stuff, he took all the harder routes.

That wildernest is bad ass. Those aren't easy to find either
Very true, he was telling us how they have been out of business since the 90's but they are amazing and held up well and even flapped up a bit when he went airborne ;) he has had it for 30 years+, even held up in 75 mph wind in death valley. His brother used to work for the company and got him replacement parts when they went out of business/on auction.

Oh. Also, from all the dust in my truck.... my tuner box fell off and into the door crack when I went out for a leak. I closed the door and hear a big crushing glass noise... Have to talk to FP support tomorrow on what to do now. Oh well, it didn't ruin my time out there at the slightest. Things happen :turkey:

That can be a tough one to work around. I really hope you get to experience this kind of fun with some organization. Good stuff.
