I knew someone else would eventually verify the top speed for me. I like getting up to speed quickly, I just don't like the tickets that go along with this kind of research

My Ranger got me my first "exhibition of speed ticket" while simply pulling away from a right turn at a traffic light. And I've driven more than few much faster cars. Be careful, you CAN get a ticket just getting up to speed.I knew someone else would eventually verify the top speed for me. I believe that's where Buford T Justice was berating the state trooper and told him to **** off ? I love that movie!
Eoj ya read my mindUnless you’re going downhill then 114 is momentarily possible
Wow, I wonder if some guy in a Ranger nailed the cops wife or something? Or, maybe he was just a dick...My Ranger got me my first "exhibition of speed ticket" while simply pulling away from a right turn at a traffic light. And I've driven more than few much faster cars. Now that I'm tuned I can verify it goes past 110. ?? ?Get a tuneTakes care of any speed limiter, but be prepared for the massive ticket you'll get when you also get a ticket for exceeding the speed rating on your tires in addition to the reckless driving ticket

Add some extra weight and you're bound to go even faster.Unless you’re going downhill then 114 is momentarily possible
110 is quick enough for me in the ranger. i saw the speed limiter "adjustments" in forscan. one said something like police no limiti thought it over for a sec. I sold a Mustang to buy the ranger. it was tuned and limiter was - adjusted. never tested it to see if it really would clock over 150. i would be interested to know if someone makes the change in forscan what the new top speed is.

This works every time.He was just a dick.
As an old white guy I'm pretty good at talking myself out of tickets. I've had a Trooper almost rip me out the car he was so pissed, clocked me well over 100 with very aggressive driving, got off with a warning when we were done "discussing" things.
But this particular Sherrif wasn't buying any of my charm. I tried "I'm sorry, officer. I just got this truck and am getting used to the power." He replied "This is brand new? Traction Control should've shut you down," as he was looking at the dash. Pretty sure he saw the indication that the nannies were off.![]()

Yup......spent some time stationed in Germany myself. When I was stationed in Germany in the early 90's All Ford and GM vehicles that were brought over from the states or sold through the on base dealership were all governed at 110 or 112 MPH. It looks like Ford has kept that speed cutoff in place.
I would love racing guys in their ford or GM vehicles with my Chrysler vehicles on the Autobahn. Chrysler, at least at that time, did not have speed limiters in any of their vehicles. My little Dodge Shadow with 5 speed and 2.2 4 cal. would bury the speedometer which went up to 135 or 140 mph.
