Sometimes the search bar doesn't work all that great and you're better off searching through Google. It will redirect you back to R5G but it's usually easier to search/find what you're looking for. In the meantime here's a couple threads to read. Also if you look at the bottom of this page you'll find other threads related to this topic.
thanks, I did try searching using the search bar on the page and it got me nowhere. I will try the google search next time.
Trust me I tried using the search bar knowing I would get at least one response like this lol. I didn't find what I was looking for...Not trying to be an A-hole, but his topic has been posted on many times, aka--beat to death. Try the search function and try "tbc" or spell it out. There are also 5 threads under this post.

so i was watching a bunch of install videos and a lot of them did not run a wire back to the third break light? What is the purpose of that? Is it required?
The wires under the panel where the TBC connects gets it's signal from the brake pedal switch. Without that wire to the 3rd brake light, the trailer brakes wont activate under Pre-collision or Adaptive Cruise Control Automatic Emergency Braking.
That is another can of worms that causes arguments at times.
