Well, the Tremor is awesome from the factory, I would say the only thing your missing is probably a front level kit. Depending on how much weight you plan to add, a 1-2" level makes most happy. 1" still provides about a .05-0.75" taller rear. The 2" I think is recommended for those adding a winch otherwise the front could be a hair higher.
So just adding the spacer lift on top of the Fox suspension it comes with still works pretty well?? I was debating that. I do want to have a bit more clearance and add bigger tires.

Good choice coming over to the dark side Brett. :bandit: I had a 2016 Tacoma and at the time the Ranger wasn't back here in the US so mid size choices were limited to either the GM twins or a Tacoma. I chose the Tacoma because of it's long history of being a great truck, boy was I wrong. Hated it from day 1 and the drivetrain and seating position were the worst I've ever had. I think you'll be impressed what this little 4 cyl can do and how smooth it drives/shifts. Looking forward to your build page.
Thanks for the feedback man! Much appreciated. So far everyone on here is a bit nicer than the Tacoma forums hahaha those can be brutal ??

IMO, it sort of looks like you off-road more intensely than a usual off-roader? I know some spacers are made very well, but I would consider just buying bigger tires that can fit with slight mods to crash bars as you have good suspension/lift to handle a bigger tire already at the start. In my eyes, a spacer is an extra point of failure for when you are deep on a trail.

They take it to the extreme over there! I ordered my Tacoma in Sept of 2015 and was active on there trying to get as much info on this new design. There were limited '16 Tacomas out on the streets at that time so the forum was the only place for info. What a sh!t show that place is and I'm trying to be as polite as possible while typing this. lol Anyways it looks like you're already jumping right in with the mods and the only problem here is you'll spend way to much darn money. ? :piggybank:?

Hah, I can only imagine with the certain attitude Taco owners have.

Oh, something I wanted to mention was you are going the full performance route with tune, exhaust, and CAI. Consider Mishimoto intercooler charge pipe/boot kit. It is $450 and the best performance mod I got. Considering you have the power to utilize that extra air flow, which you do. I would say it is almost silly not to get the charge pipe kit, most power boost you will get(besides the tune) and makes the truck feel very, very good.

I see you got the tailgate dampener. Good to hear as that's the first required modification to quote on the forum!

Start filling 91 octane if you haven't already. Let the ECU and truck get used to it, that way when you slap on the FP tune it will be easier break in. I was running 91 since the first fill up and when I put FP tune on I was running it as hard as it could ever be. In hindsight I wish I waited to break it in at least 500-1k miles, but there's no noticeable consequences "yet" ?

A friend just went from a 2008 taco to a 2021 taco… all because of brand loyalty.. I haven’t seen him about a year then he shows up with his new truck… Well I gave him a tour and test drive with my 2021 FX4…

Both trucks are fully loaded and after driving he admitted that he should have shopped around a bit…

He’s still happy but I still see him admiring the Ranger. Plus he paid a bit more than I did for the Lariat..

The ones who have done it say it did not change performance at all. I would suspect that a 1" spacer would not have any effects either. I plan on the 1" spacer personally so that when I am loaded with camping gear or towing, I am still level rather than squatting in the rear.

I have had my Tremor up to 60mph on dirt so I will be curious to see if anything changes when I level it.

I plan on the 1.0" wheel spacer as well. The 1.5" looks too but I am hoping I do not need to do crash bars with the 1.0" wheel spacer. The forum member with stock height and stock tires that put 1.5" wheel spacers said he had to remove his front crash bar due to rubbing.

Honestly, I agree with you 100%. I do plan to get after market wheels with a slight negative offset and bigger tires. I’m trying to figure out what size tire I can fit on the Tremor with the suspension it has. I know I’ll need to chop or remove the crash bar, but idk what else. The spacer is more of place holder until then. I suppose kind of a waist of money.

Yeah man that and the Facebook page! It was ridiculous how off putting and rude those guys can be. I’d just smh and move on. Yeah, guys and their vehicles. It’s always a money pit of upgrades

Glad you mention that. It was some thing I was looking into but I wasn’t sure about yet. I’m sure it’s something I might’ve figured out after a little while LOL but I’m glad you mentioned it. I saw that brand and the AFE brand. Looks like the AFE brand it’s just a little bit more based on the brand-name.

Yeah man I had that stock on my Tacoma and it is one thing I loved because I’ll be carrying a bunch of stuff and I don’t have to set it all down to open the tailgate. It’s definitely a nice little addition that I wish Ford would put on there. It’s only like $30-$40 so a little ridiculous that they didn’t.

Yeah! I did the same thing on the Tacoma! 91+ since day one. I also always used LiquiMoly full synthetic and changed it every 5k. I definitely try to put only the best into the engine in hope of increasing the overall life.

Are you saying you wished you would have waited till you had a little bit more miles on the truck before tuning it?

Yeah, I was seeing where guys where talking about having to remove it, cut it, or install that high clearance style replacement.

Let me know on that lift if there is a noticeable difference in the ride quality with the spacer lift in the front and rear. I’m interested!

Not a waste of money if you enjoy the look in the meantime until you get the new tires!

Awesome looks like you will treat the Ranger well.

Oh no, what I meant is I was stupid to not give it 500 miles or so after throwing the tune on to go bat out of hell mode. There are no noticeable consequences but maybe down the far line something might come up.

Just a thought on how generally you want to break in a vehicle. I bought the Ranger new, drove 500 miles stock. Threw the tune on and started beating on it immediately. Either way I had fun, just a peace of mind thing really.
