From that link I found out that O'Reilly Auto Parts sells Dorman products. I may well just drop by one and see what's what.

I ordered set of McGard bulge lug nut from Amazon Warehouse, for like half the normal price, to compare the taper with my OEM nuts. They ate really close, look a little smaller but not much. Looking for thoughts.

Probably the closest I've seen so far. Might want to paint the wheel pockets to cover the halo around the nut, avoiding the taper of course. The Dorman look very OEM but only come in chrome that I could find. Amazon has a few OEM in black but, I'm not sure I trust the quality or finish.

On a separate note. Yes using the wrong size/worn socket is a big two piece nut killer, as are impact wrenchs. Another bad thing is 12 point sockets. The reduced contact area along with impact wrench hammering, deform/swell the thin soft outer case of the two piece nut. Should never use a 12 point socket in a high torque application.

Sent an email to Gorilla for black lug nuts. They recommend 41138BC (bulk, sold individually) or 41137BCB (4 pack). Landed up buying (6) 4 packs for ~$83 including shipping and St tax

Lets see pictures when you get them with your OEM nuts. They show an OEM bulge nut on their web site which has an increased bevel size but doesn't list in our thread size.

On the spec sheet it indicates: 12mm X 1.50, 1.40L 3/4 AF, and 60 deg. When I get them I'll attach comparison pictures.

Just received and installed the Gorilla recommended 41137BCB black lug nuts. Please excuse the chicken scratch sketch included. Also, there's no shoulder on the Gorilla nuts.

Well, may have found a winner is the search for a proper OEM Ranger lug nut replacement:
https://lugnutguys.com/products/lug...ocus-oe-wheels-1?rq=yr_2019~mk_ford~md_ranger

Sold out at the moment, not withstanding (to be restocked in late September. The fellow said he sells 5000 a month... to individuals and dealerships)
I was looking at these as well, can find no real info on them, reviews etc. They are located in St Paul, MN. Seem to be a reseller as they also sell McGard. Great price, so probably made in China. But the real question is the quality of the steel and chrome plating.
But if for no other reason I would try them as they are the only ones that sell Ford 1 pc lugs in a 24 pack!

Bought these off Amazon. I bought the chrome but they also offer black. Seem good quality and match the OEM for key dimensions

Did you ever get a chance to look at the Dorman's?
