Washed the Truck today even though it was hot and sunny. 87 degrees as I write this. Some of you in AZ, NV & Southern CA will think I’m a wimp :puke:. By the way, the highest temperature ever recorded occurred in Death Valley within the last two weeks...130 :frown:. Used Meguiar’s car wash with the two-bucket method. Mitt for the paint and separate sponge and brush for the wheels and tires. I found that continuously wetting the whole vehicle after spraying off each washed section will prevent water spots if you dry immediately after washing everything. After the wash, immediately pulled into the garage and dried. Used a separate microfiber cloth for the paint and wheels. Used a terry cloth for the windows and plastic. I never have liked washing vehicles and probably never will . I re-learn after every wash and wax that the procrastination and dread is harder work than the actual job :headbang:. Am too particular to go to automated car washes. Will garage the Truck tonight then clay bar and wax tomorrow.

Looks amazing. Do you have swirls if you look close? I want to clay mitt/bar but worried I am assuring time if I am not paint correcting more before applying 303. Which mitt did you buy?

I gave True North a bath at the local coin-op and took care of the interior with some 303 Protectant. Tomorrow, I’ll clean out the bed, move my tools to their respective places in the garage, and give it a once over with some detailing spray. The Ranger will likely see a lot less driving over the next year.

True North is a work truck and I’m stepping away from my contractor gig for a bit and throwing on my Corporate Communications Consultant hat (See Occupation in my profile) for the next year (I know, the two don’t make sense at all). I have someone at home who needs my help and this contract lets me work from home and that’s a huge plus!

So, I guess it’s now a “play“ truck. There’s one thing for sure - it will be so nice to be free of saw dust for a while. Man, that stuff gets everywhere. Instead of posting pics of my truck loaded with lumber, maybe I’ll be posting pictures of True North checking out some fire roads or getting buried up to its axles in mud.
This naming your vehicle thing weirds me out...I guess it's just me, oh well.

You have a name, or a nickname...why shouldn't your truck.
Or, you could just call it The Truck !
Like, Hey Truck, I'm gonna drive you to the store, or Hey Truck, let's go for a ride off road !
To "Become one" with your truck, you must give it an identity all it's own.
I call my Ranger Grumpy, grandkids call me Grumpaw, so Grumpy is Grumpaws Truck !

Installed my Fas-Top TRV package and a set of rear Eibach Pro-Truck shocks. Still waiting for the fronts to drop-ship.

Try it, you might like it. I named mine “Butterscotch”, though, I have to say, “True North” is a much cooler name. :)

Teach us, teach us oh wise one from your years of gaining knowledge and wisdom. (And for putting up with BS for more years than many of us). Teach us the ways to become "one" with the truck and guide us down a path of wisdom to spend the right amount of money on the right parts that we "need".
