Dust in truck bed?

I have a lowpro soft tonneau cover from truxedo. Now I understand it does not seal perfectly..but.. when I travel down dirt/dusty roads, my bed is covered in dust. The tonneau cover ’appears’ to seal relatively well at the top of the tailgate, so I‘m speculating that the dust is coming UP from the bottom of the tailgate. Has anyone solved this issue? I’m wondering whether a cut up pool noodle would seal it?

The dust is coming in from around the tailgate so getting a seal there will help with that. Here's an older post which you can read through describing it.

I think there are also drains at the end of the bed/tub too. I noticed when I was parked down hill a few degrees with a leaking barrel of water I had two very distinct puddles underneath just under the bed and can gap, maybe there too??

I think that extang seal is the one several of us bought and the package says not for rangers. I found another one for the ranger.
Cant find a link right now, but it’s in my post history, maybe even in that thread linked above.

Anytime! The search bar isn't the best and sometimes it's just easier to post and ask. Also you can try using Google when searching as it gives you better results than this one. If you put ranger5g tailgate seal in the search on Google the link I posted will come up first.

I have the same bed cover. It's holding up great btw if you're concerned about long term usage.
Most of us here have done the tailgate seal and seems to've corrected the dust and debris issue.

Got no complaints with the Extang seal, works 99.5% or better. Think what does get through is from the seal with the tri-fold hard cover. Good luck

I was just coming to post that link. That's the one I bought and waiting for it to arrive. Note: Some people here installed the extang and said it worked, so YMMV. I decided to return it and buy the one linked here.

This one seemed to work ok.

Due to how it covers the gaps better I just ordered this. Should see it tomorrow and stop the bed from being a vacuum cleaner.

This one seemed to work ok.

I use this one too but I was still leaking in from the top of the tailgate so I modified a piece to sit like this to rechannel the water. Also keep in mind that there are holes in the front corners of the bed that also causes water and dust to get in.
