It's the tires. Your 2020 FX4 has Light Truck tires. LT265/65R17 load range C. Your loaner truck has Standard Load (SL) tires. If it's an FX4 also, then it has 265/65R17 or the 18" wheel equivalent.

Light Truck tires will ride rougher than standard load tires.
The LT265/R17's were-are optional on all 4X4 models.
• 265/65R17 A/T OWL or 265/60R18 A/T OWL (std w/ Lariat or STX Special Edition pkg) were-are included with the FX4 pkg.

Some FX4 Rangers have LT tires and some do not. If the FX4 Ranger that you are in has standard load tires, then it will give you a much smoother ride than if you got one with LT tires. I don’t know what tires will be on the Ranger later this year or next year because Hankook ATM (RF10) is replaced by Hankook AT2 (RF11).

If there is a sign in the newer Rangers that warns the driver not to exceed 4,500 MPH, then I would agree that the build quality must have been improved from our 2019 models....
Don't see mph written anywhere, look closer

LT's are available as a separate option with or without the FX4 package, so it is possible the OP has LT's. Ordered mine as an XL STX Special Edition which has 265/65 R18 OWL's. I don't know what brand or model, I'll read 'em when the truck comes in ETA May 15th.

Of course it has better quality. With all of the decontenting since 2019 they have a lot more time to spend on the assembly line.

Just kidding.

My 2020 2wd XL came with 16 inch rims. I bought a set of 18 inch factory wheels with very low miles on them an the ride was noticeably better. Then I replaced the horrible rear shocks and the trucks ride was transformed yet again. Honestly the factory rear shocks felt like they were blown from day one. It sounds like ford is listening to feedback from ranger owners.

i just wanna know what happens when you exceed 4500 miles.
My guess would be they can no longer sell it as “new”. My Ranger was a “courtesy vehicle” at the dealer when I bought it. Had 3500 miles on it. Was still sold as new and I got a pretty good discount.

The wheels lock up like those shopping carts when you try to go beyond the parking lot with it.

@Gixxers Do you still have the loaner? I'd like to see the Sync version/info. Do the 2021's come with S4? Either that or this is an update to S3, which means that we could all have that screen soon.

I traded my 2019 XLT 4x4 last week for a 2021 XLT FX4. There are a couple of things I noticed about my 19 vs 21 like on the 21 the front passenger floor didn't have floor matt connectors and the rear seat head rests didn't have push buttons on them to change their position to make it easier when folding the seat back down but my 19 did. The SYN is better and even though the 19 had the latest version I could download, it wasn't as smooth and easy to use as the 21. One example is that my 19 use to always ask me if I wanted to connect to the network when I'd start it up, even if I was at home in the garage where the 21 automatically connects to the home network (I know that could have been a setting I missed but its just an observation). I bought the 19 in Germany and it was the only one in country at the time so I took what I got. Bought the FX4 because that's what I originally wanted for the TM and locking diff. Loved the 19 and the 21 is even better in my opinion. I have Fox 2.0's and a hidden winch mount from Fab 589 to put on it when I get around to it.

I'd say that's not a general characteristic of the '19 (mine doesn't do that).

It was annoying and did it from day one. It wouldn't go away unless I touched the button on the screen to make it go away. It could have been associated with the fact it was overseas and couldn't link to sync or any number of reasons. Just glad my 21 doesn't do it.
