Dan, do you have frequent short trips or mostly longer highway trips?

Mostly short trips. Dealer says that's my issue and after researching for myself thoroughly I'm inclined to agree with him. 10min to work and 10min home is my typical day. I did purchase the Ford Protect extended warranty which covers me for 84months bumper to bumper. Other than this issue I sure love my truck.

Yes, I agree too. Longer highways trips are a non-issue but city trips (especially in winter) result in oil level rise for me. I think more frequent oil changes is the best we can do for this problem. Some other owners appear to have a more pervasive problem.

I have 16k miles on my 2019 made in 3/2019. I had 5% fuel in my oil at a 9500 oci when I got a UOA at changing my oil. Last changes had little fuel. It is possible it’s changing the oil in the winter season...

So far I have 5 entries in my spreadsheet from owners who were willing to share their Blackstone report. I am compiling a spreadsheet of people who have documented fuel in their oil. If you also have higher than normal readings on your report please consider sharing the results with me, and I will then share it with everyone who responds. Hopefully, with a unified database like this it will allow us to get Fords attention and take this situation seriously. Individually, they are more likely to blow us off. However, with everyones input in a single unified document, they will be more likely to take us seriously.
Thanks in advance!
Joe
There is a poll on the forum I started for this. I see quite a few new folks in this thread who have not entered their results in there yet.

Poll - Test Results for Fuel in Oil

Unless you are collecting info for more detailed data. But the poll has quite a few selections and for everyone that participates I also recommend listing and specifics they want to share - highway miles, city miles, heavy towing, winter warmups, anything that might be applicable.

OK @createaneutron, I've attached my latest oil analysis from Blackstone. It includes the original factory oil sample on the right hand column and my latest oil sample on the left column.

Surprisingly, my percentage of fuel in the oil dropped from 2.8% to 0.5%. I don't know if it's attributable to the 5w-30 Amsoil Signature Series oil I'm using or just that this truck does not have an issue. Baffling since I smell fuel around the vehicle still.

Thanks for the data Shea!

I have replied to the poll and more data is always certainly helpful!

I wonder if it can be fixed with software like the Honda's had. They had some serious oil dilution and changing the tuning sorted out the issue. I plan to have a professional tune done at my work when I'm out of warranty. I haven't personally noticed rising oil, but I don't check Often enough, but my oil does smell weird. Can't say for certain if I smell fuel or not..

I just got to 3k so no oil analysis yet, but i concur with others that these motors run rich. I have factory DP still with the FP tune and when cold starting my truck in the garage I set my smoke detector off due to what I assume are the high levels of unburnt hydrocarbons being sent into the air via the exhaust, but under warm start this does not happen. Never had this happen with any other vehicles.

Also at cold start I get an excessive amount of carbon rich exhaust condensation all over the ground from my turndown off the DP, to where it’s staining the concrete. I can smell the fuel in the condensation too. My Mishimoto catch can fills up in cold weather every 250mi or so and it is 80% unburnt fuel.

All that being said these issues with excessive fuel (in oil or otherwise) will surely be by addressed by Ford at some point (fingers crossed). I do worry about excess fuel harming the catalytic converter over time. But what do I know lol...

Well that was a waste of time! Took my results to Ford (4%oil dilution, rising oil level) and they say everything checks out and normal. I'll send in another sample at next oil change and if it's just as bad I'm done with Ford. This sucks, oil levels don't increase between changes. I'm sure the motor will last until warranty is up. I guess that's what they're hoping for.

Here is some information on the Honda oil dilution problem: Honda Oil Dilution

Thats a bit irrational don’t you think? If performance is good and longevity outlasts warranty then it’s good to go

I dropped my truck at the dealership (second time in two weeks), which was scheduled under my Ford Warranty Claim that I opened after not getting any satisfaction with Ford Customer Complaint I openEd.
The truck was there from 7am until 7pm (and is still there) and no resolution. The Ford Warranty Rep sent me an email stating: “ The dealership were still unable to duplicate your gasoline smell concern, they have escalated the concern to our Ford Engineers” and they should have a reply no later than 1/13/21, another two days from now!
