Try using one of the Lincoln themes, I like the look of the audio screen better. Also I run it in night mode Al the time. Day mode is too bright.
Is there a way to make these themes stick without Forscan?

What was odd was when it first rebooted, the Climate Control was showing on the screen and then it rebooted a second time and it disappeared.

Yes I've noticed this as well with my camera during the day. Haven't checked it out at night yet but the camera definately doesn't seem to be the same as it was before the update.
Thanks for confirming. I need to check daytime as well. It was twilight last night when i went for my test drive. I don't see any adjustments to change this.

Yep, just went out and checked. Camera during the day is certainly a lower resolution.
EDIT: That seems to be the only issue I have with the update.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but are we absolutely sure there are only two installation packages, one w/ NAV and one w/o NAV?

My only other thought is the packages are slightly different between trims and/or options. Maybe the installation scripts are not pulling the VIN correctly and just installing a "basic" version of 3.4. I almost want to grab someone's VIN who's gone through the 3.4 upgrade sucessfully without the use of FORscan to get climate controls back to see if the MD5 checksums are the same as mine.

Here's what my log looks like after the Sync update:
InterrogatorLog() +
CopyInterrogatorLog +
Interrogator log generation unsuccessful
CopyInterrogatorLog -
InterrogatorLog() -
getVINnumber thread already terminated

Core software for Non-Nav installs after the first restart, so it can show then disappear at the next boot when it reads the configuration and see climate disabled. For now, to regain it, you'd need to update the 7D0-04-01 value from 0x8 to 0x0 per earlier posts.

Yes, they are generic for Nav and Non-Nav. They can be custom based on what version you're starting from, so 3.3 -> 3.4 vs 3.4 -> 3.4.

Well, I had previously updated to 3.4 with CyanLabs app...went ahead and downloaded the offical Ford files, and updated again....only indication of an update was the message "Updating System" at the top of the screen. Update lasted approx 45 minutes, the got the message to remove the USB. Once I removed the USB, system rebooted, and that was it. Files showed exactly the same numbering as before, so I don't know what, if anything was updated. And I still had my climate controls, as before....Non Nav xlt.....

And you let it run fully through the two automatic restarts?
Don't know if this is still relevant or not.....

I ran the update a couple weeks ago. It's an hour drive for me to get to work so I let it run the whole drive. The system rebooted itself a couple times but no interference with the drive.

What all is the forscan fix for this again? Anyone have before and after configuration values? Only thing I can think of is there was some change made to handling of the config values for climate domain in 3.4 to cause it. I've never seen it happen myself to look into. You can report a bug using the bug reporter utility in 3.4 (in Settings under the Analytics & Diagnostics).
If you haven't fixed it yet.

OK here is my experience with the SYNC 3.4 and Map 1 19 updates:

I did not know that SYNC 3.4 update was available but I did know about the Map 1 19 update.

I tried the Map download and and it ABSOLUTELY sucked. Would not load, I had this same problem with the 1 18 update so as I did with the 1 18 update I coughed up the $40 for SYNC's USB.
It tried to load, actually it seemed to load but at the end I showed MAP 1 18.

So after several hours over the course of two days being bounced around from one 800 number to another, I finally got someone who actually listened to me after realizing I was actually tech savvy. I noted that the directions to the SYNC USB mentioned SYNC 3.4 and how just a week prior I had checked the FordOwners.Com website and it was still not available. She checked and SURPRISE! 3.4 is available.

I thought "great" I'll be forking out for another company USB BUT I would give their download a chance.

It freeking worked! I finally had SYNC 3.4 on board!

I forgot to mention that the "Nice Lady", the truly helpful one insisted that according to their records, I had MAP 1 19 loaded, this was before my SYNC 3.4 update BUT I showed 1 18 on MY screen.

So I reloaded the MAP update and sure enough (after a 30 minute load) I now have MAP 1 19.

Let me add that after I loaded MAP 1 19 with SYNC 3.3 I lost all NAV Voice Commands But I have everything in NAV working now.

I also had to do a Master Reset and reload Ford Pass to get everything to work.

Agreed. Then when I turn off the headlamps while pulling into the garage, the screen goes hyper-bright and blinds me.

Is there a way to turn off the screen so it's black ???
You can turn it off off by going into settings -> display and hitting the turn display off option.

I've been on 3.4.20136 for a while, updated using CyanLabs. I just went out to the Ford site and it says I have an upgrade to SYNC3 v3.4.4.3. Is this newer than 20136?

Tried to download update and it fails and says:

Oops! Something went wrong on our end. A message has been sent to our support team, please try again later.

Is Fords server getting blasted?

"Your SYNC system (SYNC3 v3.4.43) is up to date. "

3.4.43 is the latest (that equates to 20136 based on my update this week). Yours likely doesn't show because you didn't do an "official" upgrade so ford's servers aren't aware you're running that build.

OK, so can I just upload the XML file or do I need to redo the upgrade and probably lose my climate screen? Once I can download it.
