Nine battery cores riding BEHIND the rear axle. Did 500 lbs. on the tail end make it squat? .........Nope!

Is that a bumper for a train?

A TRanger? haha

Nope, just a Warn Ascent front bumper. Rangers are about 6 1/2 feet wide.
Bed on a Screw is 5 ft., tailgate 1 ft. - add some packing and you end up with a long box!

Here's the SCAB with juuuuuuuust enough bed length to fit our stretched quad in the back.

This will be an art car for Burning Man and will carry a pair of 1/4 barrel kegs inside the frame and jockey-box-back-rest to deliver ice cold beer while we're working in harsh environments.

If you want to see this thing as it progresses into a full blown art car, you'll have to follow our personal build page where I put pics of the various projects we're doing with the Ranger or with the rest of the fleet.

SCAB build, Seattle WA

I run an art-car repair camp on-playa and this is the sort of stuff we work on: Sourced parts in the middle of the desert and replaced the distributor and ignition on a RAM 2500, then timing and tune. The RAM has been converted into Island Oasis.

burning man is on my bucket list of crazy things to attend
If it's a bucket list thing, then your money is better spent elsewhere. Just being honest. If it's the party you're after, then Ibiza will be drastically more enjoyable and less painful to attend.

I wish the Ranger had a bed payload capacity over 1,850 lbs. We're usually a touch over 2,000 lbs from the kegs of beer alone, plus another ~500 lbs in gear, fuel and water.

(Kegs are empty in this pic, and only 11 are pictures, we'll go through about 15 kegs in a week. Giving away the beer one glass at a time!)

Hauled my girlfriendā€˜s sisterā€™s mattress and box springs today. Really killed the MPG on the highway doing 70-80. Averaged about 18.2

Hi Gavin,

You have never seen the vehicles from Mexico with between 14 to 16 mattres piled high on an F150 (older Mexico F150 called Lobo) Top mattres probably cleans the bottom of the overpass bridges on the way to the Nogales boarder crossing. I am guessing the folks down there must eat them for breakfast as this is very normal. We either stay way behind these trucks or blow past them as rapidly as possible. Worse are the trucks with refrigerators and washers and dryers piled two high and 5 or six deep.....Angle iron frame extensions abound, most being only tack welded. Traveling I19 is always an adventure southbound to Green Valley out of Tucson...

Best,
