I believe have figured it out. Was looking at my window sticker and I have the Perimeter alarm option on my truck. Wonder if being really windy out from all the storms, the feature of the perimeter alarm sensor picked that up alone with my movement. Thou truck did not beep like an alarm, just flashed it lights and heard the sound of locking of doors. Looks like in the manual when you hit the double lock on the key fob and the horn beeps this does activate the perimeter alarm feature.

im not sure if mine has perimeter alarm or not so i'm talking out my ass.
but i thought you had to physically touch the truck (ie attempt to open the door) to get a reaction?
not sure what sensors would be there to acknowledge someone just approaching
That what I would think as well, but closest theory I can come up with at this point. It was really bad storms here and good wind gusts.

I decent gust has enough force to easily rock this truck. My daughter, 7, can rock the truck by rocking in the passenger seat.

Good wind gusts? WHOA! That was horizontal rain with 60mph hurricane force straight line winds. Scared the bejesus out of me. 114K w/o power. Yeah, my vote goes to the rocking motion of the wind.

And some Tornadoes! At least it made me find out I have the perimeter alarm option on my truck!

That is the strange part on mine, no key left in car or on me and locked the previous night. I was like is this a security feature of the truck, did it sense something coming near it and locked and flashed it lights with all the sensors on these trucks nowadays?
The MKC Lincoln does the same thing when you walk up to it. But it's designed to do that turns on the puddle lamps as well. The downside to that is guys were waking up with dead batteries. they would carry the key around the house and it's thinking you're walking up to it within 10 feet or so the lights would come on in the garage.

If that security feature is on our trucks, I'll welcome it. Ford has the technology to walk up to a vehicle and turn all the lamps on when you come within ten feet of the car. I don't think it's on the ranger yet. After all they have to save some gizmos the next few designs. LOL

My remote fob buttons get pushed accidently in my pocket. I have tried many different "socks" to stop the buttons from accidently getting pushed. It seems that these fobs are supersensitive and can go thru many walls. What bothers me the most is finding the truck unlocked when it isnt supposed to be. ?
