Doesn't take much pressure at all if you place the ends right. Put them between the ridged areas and they will stay in place with moderate pressure on the bed walls.
The last time I tried it, the ends of the ratchet bar were wider than the ridged sections. It may be that the ratchet bar I have is made for full sized trucks. I may try it again if I can find a better bar. Also, I didn't have my spray-in liner back then, so maybe that texture should help hold it in place better now. It's certainly a cheaper option!

Does it interfere with the 2 tie downs in that area? I was looking at mine the other day seeing if one would be a good fit and noticed the tie downs sitting along the bed wall in that area. Also, how well does it mate with the wheel wells? I know that's why it's curved and shaped the way it is, but if there's weird gapping then I don't think my OCD can handle that. haha
It’s a pretty clean and crisp install and fit. Doesn’t interfere with the tie downs; actually the tie down at the middle location is required to secure the mounting bracket. If your Ranger showed up with just four tie down hooks/ missing the middle ones (like mine did) you’ll need to get one (and the two mounting bolts which are each sold separately) to secure it. All 2019 brochures/ specs say there are six hooks in the bed and when I showed it to my dealer they gave them to me for free and I installed. You could just use 8M X 1.25 bolts instead of the hooks and it’s bolts, but having the hooks is nice. For folks with a spray in bed liner, you’ll need to get taps to clean out the holes (M6 at the front bracket mount and a M8 at the tie down hook). That’s what I had to do; extra twenty minutes. Total time 40 minutes. One point; recommend coating the bolts with anti seize before putting them in to prevent galvanic corrosion and make it so you can get them out if you ever want to in the future. I also have the OEM gate damper installed and it doesn’t interfere with it at all when it swings out.

The dealership I got my ranger from installs the plastic bed liners before they hit the lot. I would prefer the spray in liner but I'm not ready to toss the drop in one yet.
I'm right there with you - it was in my truck when I signed the paperwork. It does it jobs and I have cover so no one really sees it and does it job.

When I was looking at installing the swing toolbox it looked like via YouTube - you had to cut away the back part of the bed liner - if all you have to do is drill holes then that might be plan
I don't have either a spray in or Drop in liner, but I remember the discussion thread about these and the only thing that had to be done on some liners was to make the holes bigger because they didn't line up perfectly. No reason to cut the whole section out.

Good to know. I was apparently lucky enough to receive a truck with all 6 tie downs, so no worries on that end. And a damper is on the list of things to get as well, so nice of you to include that info as well. I'll still include them on list of finalists for storage options then.
Thanks much!

So where do you get a Free Broom Stick? Didn't that cost something? And where are the $1.00 Coat hooks? Seriously being cheap doesn't usuisaly work out as expected. :>)

I believe you gave me the measurements for that and that is one of my thoughts. I like the swing out toolbox but may go the racket bar or 2x6 route with a box or something
